İngiliz iç istihbarat servisinin yeni başkanı Ken McCallum, Rusya ve Çin kaynaklı istihbarat tehditlerinin ciddiyet ve karmaşıklık olarak büyüdüğünü söyledi.
Nisan ayında göreve başlayan Birleşik Krallık iç istihbarat servisi MI5 başkanı Ken McCallum, ilk defa açıklamalarda bulundu. McCallum’ın gündeminde Çin, Rusya, İran kaynaklı dış tehditler ve terör grupları vardı.
McCallum, yurtdışı kaynaklı saldırıların giderek daha ciddi ve karmaşık hale geldiğini dile getirdi: “Rus, Çinli, İranlı ve diğer kaynaklardan gelen ulusal güvenlik tehditleri ciddiyet ve karmaşıklık olarak büyüyor. Kötü bir karışımın içindeyiz. Terörizmin bir yere gittiği yok. Devlet destekli hasmane etkinlikler de artışta.”
Çin’e özel olarak değinen McCallum, Çin’in istihbarat faaliyetlerinin daha çok özel sektörü ve özel sektörün hassas bilgilerini hedef aldığını söyledi. Ancak Çin’in artık politik sahneden istihbarat toplamaya çalıştığını da hatırlattı. McCallum için Çin ile belli alanlarda işbirliği yapmak mecburiyken rekabet de giderek büyüyor.
