Afganistan’ın Hanımağası: Komutan Kaftar

Sovyetler Birliği’nin Afganistan’ı işgal etmesinden beri silahlı mücadeleye başlayan Komutan Kaftar, geçtiğimiz günlerde bölgede hakimiyet kuran Taliban’a katıldı.


Afganistan’ın kuzeydoğusunda bulunan Nehrin Vadisi’ndeki köyünü koruyan Kaftar, Sovyetler Birliği’nin ülkeye girmesiyle işgale karşı silahlanıp, savaşan ilk kadın. Gerçek adı Bibi Ayşe Habibi. Güvercin anlamına gelen Kaftar adı ise kendisine “babasının güvercini” denmesi sebebiyle verildi. Komutanlık ve savaş için “savaşçılara ekmek, su ve kurşun vaktinde ulaştırıldığı sürece çatışmak zor değil” diyor. Afganistan’ın uzun yıllardır önde gelen savaş ağaları ve devlet yöneticileri General Raşid Dostum ve Ata Muhammed Nur’un güçlü olduğu bu bölgede Taliban’a karşı bir dönem dişli mücadele veren Komutan Kaftar şimdi Taliban saflarında. 


Sovyetler Birliği’nin işgal ettiği dönemdeki Komünist yönetim, kadınları askere alıyor, çeşitli birimlerde görevlendiriyordu. NATO ve Amerika’nın desteklediği Afganistan Ordusu da kadınların eğitilmesi için kadrolar açıyor. Ülke şartlarında çalışan kadınlar genellikle ofislerde çalışıyor. 67 yaşındaki Komutan Kaftar ise köyünün dışında bir yaşamı tercih etmeyen, dışarıdan bir yardım olmadan erkeklerin öne çıktığı bir toplumda köyün saygın bir yöneticisi oldu.


Bibi Ayşe’nin hem güvercin ismini alması hem de yönetimle ilgilenmesi babasının yanında başladı. Toplumda saygı gören ve önde gelen bir kişi olan babasını çocukluğundan beri her yerde takip eden Ayşe, yaşı büyüyünce babasına danışan kişilere çözüm yolları sunmaya başladı. Onlarca erkeğin babasının etrafını çevirip sorunları için danışmasıyla yöneticiliği babasının yanında öğrenmeye başladı. İlerleyen yaşlarında ise bu sorunlara bizzat kendisi çözüm bulmaya başladı. 


Ergenlik çağında evlenen Kaftar, kocası ve ailesinin farklı bir gelinleri olacağını kabul etmesi şartıyla evlendi. Babasının yanında liderliği öğrenirken aynı zamanda nişanlıydı ve yaşı gelince evlenmeye hazırlanıyordu. Sovyetler Birliği’nin işgali sırasında yedi çocuk sahibi olan Kaftar, çocukları evde eşine bırakıp savaşmaya gidiyordu. On sene önce hastalığı tedavi edilemeyecek ölçüde ilerlediği için eşi yaşamını yitirdi.
