Mossad’a Yeni Başkan Atandı

İsrail Başbakanı Binyamin Netanyahu, Salı günü yaptığı açıklamada, Mossad’a yeni başkan atadığını söyledi. Bu kararla birlikte Mossad’ın mevcut başkanı Yossi Cohen yerine yardımcısının koltuğa geçeceği bildirildi.

 

İsrail Başbakanlık Ofisi’nden yapılan yazılı açıklamaya göre, yeni başkanın adı güvenlik sebebiyle sadece “D” harfiyle açıklandı.  Ofisten yapılan açıklamada, yeni başkan “D”nin işinde becerikli bir istihbarat yetkilisi olduğu belirtildi.

 

Mossad’a yeni başkan değişikliğine Savunma Bakanlığı tarafından onay verilirse mevcut başkan Yossi Cohen yakın zamanda emekliye ayrılacak ve Cohen’in yardımcısı yeni başkan olacak. Mossad Başkanlığına 2016 yılında getirilen Cohen, İsrail-Körfez ilişkilerinin normalleşmesinde büyük rol oynamıştı. Cohen’in daha önce İran’ın nükleer programlarını hedef alan casusluk operasyonlarını da yürüttüğü iddia edilmişti.

Yerel basında Netanyahu’nun Savunma Bakanı Gantz’a yeni başkan ataması konusunda bilgi vermediği haberleri yer aldı. Bu durum, ikili arasında bir gerilimin yaşanmasına yol açtı. Daha sonra Gantz, telefonla Netanyahu’yu arayarak değiştirme kararını kendisine bildirmediği için tepkisini dile getirdi.

 

Gantz “yeni değişiklik için Savunma Bakanlığı’nın onayını bekleyeceğiz.” dedi.
