Almanya Federal Başsavcılığı, Başbakan Angela Merkel’in basın ofisinde çalışan bir kişinin Mısır’a bilgi sızdırdığına dair şüphelerin olduğunu açıkladı.
Başsavcılık, söz konusunu şüphelinin, 1999 yılından beri Başbakanlık Basın ve Bilgilendirme Dairesi’nin konuklara hizmet veren biriminde çalıştığını ve 2010 yılından bu yana Mısır istihbaratına çalıştığını söyledi.
Başsavcının yaptığı açıklamaya göre şüpheli şahıs, Alman medyasında Mısır hakkında yer alan haberleri raporlaştırıp, Mısır Genel İstihbarat Servisi’ne teslim etti. Ayrıca şüphelinin, Alman iç ve dış siyaseti ile ilgili bilgileri de derleyip Mısır istihbaratına bilgi sağladığı öne sürülüyor. Mısır istihbaratının, bilgi sızdırma karşılığında Amir A.’nın Mısır’da yaşayan ailesine kolaylık sağladığı iddia ediliyor.
Şüpheli şahıs hakkındaki soruşturma, 2019 yılından beri sürüyor. Almanya iç istihbaratına göre, Mısır’ın iç ve dış istihbarat servisleri, Almanya’da birtakım faaliyetler yürütüyor. Alman istihbaratına göre, Mısır’ın istihbarat servisleri, Almanya’daki Müslüman Kardeşler üyeleri ile ilgili bilgiler topluyor.
